Embracing uncertainty
“The whole process of nature is an integrated process of immense complexity, and it’s really impossible to tell whether anything that happens in it is good or bad — because you never know what will be the consequence of the misfortune; or, you never know what will be the consequences of good fortune.”
While reflecting on the impacts of the pandemic - and wishing (deeply) that I could have more certainty about what lies ahead this year - I was reminded of the story of the Chinese farmer, as told in the video below by Alan Watts.
It's a wonderful nudge to practice cultivating acceptance of the reality that life is inherently uncertain and continually evolving. Anicca.
